Rumor has it that the 2018 Aston Martin Vantage V8 S is going to be released somewhere near the end of 2017 and is going to carry an approximate $135,000 price tag, which is a steal in comparison to the other cars in its family. According to the reports, it should be just as handsome and remarkable as its older sibling the S 11 and will carry many similar traits and features.
To this point, the Vantage has been talked about in rumors and riddles, since the only real information on it right now comes from spy photos taken of a prototype on the backroads in Germany and the fact that it appears to simply be a smaller, less expensive version of the S11. The Vantage has been definitely in need of a makeover, since the last update came over a decade ago, dating back to 2006.
The car is expected to be a little bit broader than the current Vantage and bear a resemblance to the DB 11. You can see from the picture that it has the same wheels and a very similar frame and it will mostly likely share the same interior. The roar from underneath the hood is unmistakably a V8 and at best guess a 4.0 liter, twin turbo from Mercedes.
“Because we are developing many cars at the same time we can collectively evaluate and develop [them] to make sure there’s enough difference between the products to position them in the space they need to be relative to their competitors,” Aston Martin executive Matt Becker said of the companies plans for its cars.
Aston Martin has a tall order in updating the Vantage, as it’s already considered one of the best body types in the entire industry. I mean, it’s is the new Bond car. It appears to sit lower than the DB 10, has more of the features of a sports car, has a broader wheel base, only comes with two seats and should have the option for a six-speed manual transmission.
