While the world was sleeping, the story was breaking that the 76ers had finally found a way to get themselves a point guard and start putting the finishing touches on what could very soon become the most talented team in the NBA.
The 76ers coveted Fultz, and with Isaiah Thomas already in house, the Celtics don’t really need him. The teams will swap first round picks this year. Philadelphia will get the first pick overall and Boston will get the 3rd overall, plus a variety of possible first round picks over the next two years.
Fultz is the player that most NBA teams are focused on going into this draft but he seems to fit perfectly in Philadelphia with their plans for the future and the “Super Team” they’ve been trying to create.
For the point guard himself it maybe a lot of pressure. The 76ers have made a practice of trading anyone who doesn’t fit perfectly right away unless they are injured. The injured players seem allowed to hang out as long as they want. That means that Fultz may be in charge of running a team that is never full strength.
The Celtics on the other hand have a very solid team already and we’re saod to be looking for more picks to possibly find a way to package a deal to trade for Jimmy Butler. Either way the Eastern Conference of the NBA just got that much more interesting.
