A day after tying the record for most appearances with at least one strikeout to start a season, Corey Knebel broke the record as he came in and shut the Pirates down for his 12th save of the season.
Knebel has been fairly dominant in his role as a closer and even when he has struggled, he bounces back with another strong performance. He is starting to really make a name for himself as the Brewers start to heat up on their way to the All-Star break.
This is a team playing with confidence and I like to think that a lot of that confidence comes from knowing that if they take a lead into the ninth inning the game is basically over.
Some players will buckle as they approach a record of this magnitude Knebel and the Brewers seemed to only get more determined and deadline as the record approached.
Starter Chase Anderson improved to 6-2 with another solid performance and Travis Shaw blasted a home run and doubled twice for a total of three RBI.
